Here are some links to stuff on the net that I like or feel passionate about seeing do well:
Eco Stuff:
http://www.greencarsite.co.uk/
http://www.24dash.com/socialhousing/15835.htm (myself and partner, Zoe, went to the local council with a proposal for getting eco/sustainable homes built in our area in 2000 and 7 years later they were finished!).
http://www.teslamotors.com/ (have tried very hard to get one of these, but alas no service infrastructure in the UK, be very interested in talking to anyone with the cash/time to help get Tesla set up in the UK – or build a UK rival
)
Not so Eco!:
http://www.ferrari.co.uk/ (had my bedroom walls plastered in pictures of these cars as a kid and was in fortunate position to buy an F430 last year – absolutely amazing car, eclipses everything else I’ve ever driven by an absolute mile when it comes to pure driving pleasure, it’s a cacophony of sound, exhilaration and excitement – bugger to park in town though!)
http://www.porsche.com/uk/models/boxster/boxster/ (have a 2001 model of this, the first modern sports-car I bought – tried a ton of similar or slightly cheaper competitor models… nothing came close. The Boxster often gets a bad press by people who haven’t driven one, not much I can say about that except… go book a test drive, it’s a fantastic car for the money)
Great stuff the Internet has made possible:
http://www.rapturemedia.co.uk (super new blog on which there are regular posts about great sites on the Internet that embody the best of web 2.0 and promote social cohesion and other great values).
http://postsecret.blogspot.com/ (chap who works with me told me about this and everyone else I’ve told and has visited the site or read one of the books has really liked it too)
http://www.facebook.com/ (I did ignore using this for quite a while, but now I’ve started I have to admit that it is really useful – way better than friends re-united for keeping in touch with old friends and making new ones too)
