I thought it might be nice to credit the people that have inspired me to live my life the way I do and in the section ‘Your Inspirations’ I thought it would also be great to hear of people that others have very inpiring and that I may not know about.
In Love:
My Grandad Harry – gave me one of the strongest doses of unconditional love at pivotal points in my childhood, he’s 91 now and we’re still and always will be very close.
My Mum – another huge helping of largely unconditional love.
In business:
Richard Branson – bit of a classic I know, but at the time of my teens he was really getting into his stride and his somewhat unconventional approaches to how it was possible for a business person to behave really inspired me.
Tom Peters – remember very clearly watching a TV programme about his ‘in search of excellence’ seminar series and found it fascinating at the age of 16 when I was studying business studies at college (my favourite subject, mostly for the fact that I actually got marks for stating my opinions as opposed to psychology or maths at A level, where the students opinions were not considered worthy of any marks).
Henry, Happy Computers (www.happy.co.uk) – got to meet this chap about 3 years ago and we’ve stayed in touch ever since. I find the commitment he has to creating a great place to work truly inspiring and it’s reflected in the continually high rankings of Happy Computers in the times top 100 companies to work for.
